February 2006 TASL MEETING MINUTES The regularly scheduled TASL meeting was held on February 20, 2006. The attendees included Robert Beck, Karen Stevens, Dave Dearborn, Dorothy Morgan, Nan Beck, Kevin Fleming, Becky Dearborn, Debbie Roth and visitors Don Leverone from Churchland Soccer Club, and Dan Eaker from Chesapeake Soccer Club. President Robert Beck called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The executive session discussions after the January 16th meeting resulted in the following action, Rebecca Dearborn was elected Treasurer of TASL. The president proceeded to read the minutes from the January 16th board meeting and there were a few minor typographical corrections to the minutes, Dorothy Morgan motioned to accept the minutes with corrections, Robert Beck 2nd the motion and the vote carried. To further clarify the board's position on the treasurer, Robert Anderson has been unable to continue as the league treasurer and has resigned his position. Robert Beck motioned to accept Rebecca Dearborn of NUSC as the new Treasurer for TASL, Dorothy Morgan 2nd the motion, the motion carried with David Dearborn of NUSC abstaining. Treasurer's Report: Becky Dearborn Becky Dearborn provided the treasures report. Discussion was held on how many people to be signature authorities on the account and whether or not two signatures would be required. Dorothy Morgan motioned to have the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer be signature authorities on the account, Kevin Fleming 2nd the motion and the motion carried. Dave Dearborn motioned that two signatures be required on all checks written over $500, Kevin Fleming 2nd the motion and the motion carried. Becky had some other accounting questions with regard to the tax return, non-profit status, etc. Karen Stevens and Becky will get together on the paper work since Karen has been working on it. TASL Handbook Spring 2006 Karen reviewed the handbook and has a few minor changes to send to Matt Hinson for corrections and posting, reviewed changes. Kevin Fleming motioned to accept the changes and post to the web, Debbie Roth 2nd the motion and the motion carried. TASL Website Several members have contacted Bob with corrections, Robert stated that if there are any more, please send to Bob. Survey to Parents - Robert Beck Robert still has not had a chance to get the survey out to the members. The board suggested that we wait and target the survey to mid-season to get fresh feedback. Norfolk U16 St. Pius Team - Dave Dearborn The Norfolk St. Pius Alumni U16 team needs to roster 20 players with only 18 showing up on each game day, they have several players who have jobs and will be unable to field the team on Saturday's and during the EOS tournament, Kevin motioned to allow the team to carry a roster of 20, Dorothy Morgan 2nd the motion and the motion carried.
