June 13, 2007 TASL MEETING MINUTES The regularly scheduled TASL meeting was held on June 13, 2007. The attendees included Dorothy Morgan President, Karen Stevens (NYSL), Dave Dearborn (NUSC), Teresa Phillips (NYSL), Brian Francazio (NYSL), Ray Franklin (WBSC), Larry Hefflefinger (PSC), Barbara Kester (CSL), David Douthett (CUSC), Mark Marston (SYAA), Kristi Hight (SYAA), Ben Baker (CSA), Michael Williams (CSA), Milt Cummings (Smithfield), Tyge Gibson (AYSO) and Taekwon Hodges (AYSO). President Dorothy Morgan called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. Treasurer's Report: David Dearborn A copy of the Treasurer's report was presented and approved. The question was asked again about distribution of the excess cash. Discussion at next meeting of what the target balance should be and how to distribute the balance of the cash. The Treasurer's report was approved as given. Business Season Review. No discussion. Review of Upcoming Dates and Information. Dorothy wanted to review with everyone a few items relative to emails and the contact chain for TASL. Questions about club information or team problems need to go to the club reps, then to the President of the Club, then if the problem is about TASL to Dorothy. Please let your teams know the appropriate chain of command and who to contact for various types of problems, questions or concerns. The main questions that she is getting emails about are how the tournament seeding is determined. Please stress to your teams/clubs that there are competition seeding committee meetings at the beginning of the season and before the tournament and that recording of the scores is how seeding is determined from season to season and for the tournament. Sept. 8th First Game Oct. 1st Roster Deadline Nov. 3rd & 4th EOST Tournament Nov. 10th & 11th EOST Tournament Rain Date Makeup Weekend ALL FORMS FOR TEAM DECLARATIONS ARE ON THE WEB SITE, PLEASE GET THEM FILLED OUT. Nan Beck's mother passed away from cancer this past weekend. Dorothy would like for TASL to send a donation to the American Cancer Society in memory of Nan's mother. Barbara Kester made a motion to make a donation to the American Cancer Society in honor of Nan's mother in the amount of $100, the motion was 2nd by Teresa Phillips, and the vote was unanimous. Tyge Gibson asked how long the probation period was for the non-voting member clubs. Dorothy told him that he needed to have the President of his club make a formal request in writing for voting membership. Dorothy also stated that the clubs that had already requested voting membership would be receiving a letter in the mail stating the decision of the voting members of the board of their request.
